The museum’s centerpiece is the restored Royal Canadian Mounted Police schooner St. Roch, famous for its 1944 voyage through the Northwest Passage and for being the first ship to circumnavigate North America. The Museum of Vancouver’s distinctive dome, shaped similarly to a basket hat made by Northwest Coast First Nations peoples, instantly became one of the best-known landmarks on the city skyline. The Gateway Theatre is the only live professional theatre in Richmond. With its big glass windows overlooking the lawns and duck ponds of Minoru Park, it's easy to spot.
