  • Dallas Firefighters Museum

    The Dallas Firefighters Museum is located in one of the city’s oldest remaining fire stations. Built in 1907, it was originally home to Hook and Ladder Company No. 3. The first floor accommodated three pieces of apparatus, five sand-floored horse stalls, feed rooms, and a workroom for the repair of the horse’s harnesses. Today, the Museum boasts a fantastic collection of rare firefighting memorabilia, including “Old Tige," an 1884 horse-drawn steam pumper, and a 1936 hook and ladder truck. Children can climb on a 1951 fire engine, pull on a helmet, and imagine they're "saving the day." The Museum also teaches safety through an interactive educational experience.
