There is a new playground for Chicago Improvisational Comedians and it's called, appropriately enough, the Playground Theater. Every night, the space at 3209 N. Halsted presents one of several Chicago Improv Troupes - with names like Nipple Competition, Cosby Sweaters, and Batterymouth. Each whacked out entourage does their darnedest to crack you up - with a dream of spawning their own not-ready-for-prime-time players. Most shows are only 5 or 10 bucks. Hard to go wrong at that price - but hey, if the first show doesn't make you laugh, there's a brand new second show each night.

The Playground Improv Theater is a non-profit, volunteer-operated establishment. The theater offers classes but is also a performance space for the house ensembles.
For a perfect night out - you can do no better than a little dinner, a few drinks, and a lot of music. Green Dolphin Street, at 2200 North Ashland, fits the bill for you and your companion. Every night except Monday offers a live band - playing every facet of Jazz - Big Band, Bebop, even Latin Jazz. We may be past the days of prohibition, but it doesn't mean that Moonshine isn't popular. Located in the artsy-hip area of Bucktown and Wicker Park, the Moonshine has one of Chicago's largest whiskey bars with over 70 different brands. But this isn't the only reason for its name. When owner, John Sanchez opened in 2003, he learned that he would have to wait an entire year before being granted a liquor license.
