Since 1967, the Parker Playhouse has been the host of concerts, comedy shows, dance extravaganzas, and traveling Broadway productions. The theater sits about 1200 people with continental style seating, and is an excellent example of neo-classical architecture inside and out. Take a journey into the past at the historic Fort Lauderdale Stranahan House. This notable gem rests on the eastern side of River Walk, the waterfront park that connects Fort Lauderdale's historic district with the soon-to-be cultural district. Originally built as a trading post for the settlers and Seminole Indians, the Stranhan House has since served as town hall, a post office and bank, as well as the home of barge ferry operator Frank Shanahan. One-hour guided tours take place every day at 1:00, 2:00 and 3:00 p.m.

The Museum of Art-Fort Lauderdale boasts 21,000 square feet of exhibit space for you to explore.
